Amazon suspension appeals and reinstatement for Seller Central brands

LIVELE's Urgent Case Review & Appeal is a one-off engagement for brand owners whose Amazon seller account or listings have been suspended, deactivated or put at risk. A senior reviewer reads the notification and account history, identifies the root cause, writes the Plan of Action with you and sets the submission and escalation plan. The price is quoted on request. No one can guarantee reinstatement, because Amazon makes the final decision.

What a suspension, a deactivation or a falling AHR means

A deactivated listing is one ASIN or offer removed from sale, usually over a listing-level policy issue: a missing document, a restricted claim, an intellectual property (IP) complaint. A suspended or deactivated account stops selling across the whole account until Amazon accepts an appeal or changes its decision.

Amazon's Business Solutions Agreement lets Amazon end the agreement for convenience with 30 days' notice. It also lets Amazon suspend or terminate immediately in listed cases, such as suspected deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity, harm to customers or other sellers, or an Account Health Rating below Amazon's thresholds. Notices that cite this part of the agreement are what sellers call Section 3 notices.

An Account Health Rating (AHR) at risk is the earlier warning. Fall below 250 for more than 10 days in the qualifying period and you lose eligibility for Account Health Assurance (AHA), and with it Seller Challenge and Listing Protection.

Three numbers to know before you appeal

The first 72 hours: a checklist

First, don't submit anything yet. One complete appeal is better than three quick ones.

  1. Step 1

Read the notice and write down exactly what it says

    Hour 1

Note the policy named, the ASINs, the dates and any deadline. Download the notification from the Account Health page and save the page as a PDF.

  2. Step 2

    Freeze the evidence

    Hours 1–12

Export the order, return and complaint data for the affected ASINs. Pull supplier invoices, letters of authorization, test reports and certificates.

  3. Step 3

Find the root cause before writing anything

    Hours 12–48

Trace the complaint to something real: a packaging change, a listing claim, a supplier, a fulfillment error. Write the root cause in one sentence. Everything in the appeal should follow from it.

  4. Step 4

    Contain the damage

    Hours 12–48

Stop inbound shipments of affected SKUs, keep answering buyer messages and tell your ads team which ASINs are affected. Don't open a second seller account or change account details while the case is open.

  5. Step 5

    Get a second reader

    By hour 72

Have someone who didn't write the listing read the notice, the evidence and the draft. That is what an urgent case review is for.

How we build a Plan of Action

Every Plan of Action we write has three parts: the root cause, the corrective actions already taken, and the preventive actions that stop it happening again. Each statement is backed by a document Amazon can check.

Sample Plan of Action outline for a fictional inauthentic-item complaint

Sample · fictional data

Case. Listing deactivated after inauthentic-item complaints on ASIN B0SAMPLE01. Fictional brand, registered in Brand Registry as the brand owner.

1. Root cause. In May the brand moved bottle production to a new supplier. The listing images still showed the old bottle, so three buyers who received the new one reported the item as not authentic.

2. Corrective actions taken.

  • Replaced all seven listing images with photos of the new bottle.
  • Attached the new supplier's invoice and a letter from the manufacturer confirming the change.
  • Checked the three orders and confirmed each unit came from the new production run.

3. Preventive actions.

  • Packaging-change SOP: listing images change before new units ship.
  • Inbound check: the first carton of every production run is photographed against the listing.
  • Monthly review of authenticity and "not as described" complaints by ASIN.

Attachments. Supplier invoice, manufacturer letter, photos of both bottles, the new SOP.

Sample: fictional data. The brand, ASIN, dates and quantities are invented to show the structure.

Cases we take

  • Section 3 notices

Account-level actions under Section 3 of the Business Solutions Agreement. We read the notice against the agreement before a word is written.

  • IP complaints

Trademark, copyright and patent complaints against your listings. We document your rights and the facts. Disputes that need a lawyer go to one.

  • Inauthentic-item complaints

Complaints that a product isn't genuine. The answer is a supply chain you can prove: invoices, letters of authorization, manufacturer records.

  • Related accounts

Deactivations linked to another account. We map the connection Amazon may have found and explain it with documents.

  • Identity and video verification

Requests to verify identity, sometimes on a video call. We prepare the documents and the person who will speak to Amazon.

  • Listing-level policy actions

Restricted products, pesticidal claims, missing safety documents, requests for a Children's Product Certificate. Usually a document and a clean listing.

No one can guarantee reinstatement. Amazon makes the final decision. We commit to a process.

What we commit to

  • A written root-cause analysis before we draft anything.
  • You read and approve every word before it goes to Amazon.
  • Every statement in the Plan of Action is backed by a document.
  • If we think an appeal shouldn't go in yet, we say so and explain why.
  • If a case needs a lawyer, we tell you and stay out of the legal work. We're not a law firm and don't give legal advice.
  • A senior reviewer reads your notice within TODO(owner) hours of your request (C-091).
  • The price is agreed in writing before work starts. TODO(owner): confirm a fixed fee per case, no success fee, and the follow-ups the fee covers (C-095).

Appeal and reinstatement questions

My Amazon seller account was suspended. What should I do first?

First, don't submit anything yet. Read the suspension notice and write down the policy it names, the ASINs and any deadline. Save the notification and your Account Health page, export the order and complaint data, and gather invoices, letters of authorization and test reports. Then write the root cause in one sentence. Everything in the appeal, from corrective actions to attachments, should follow from it.

Can you guarantee my account will be reinstated?

No. No one can guarantee reinstatement of an Amazon seller account, because Amazon makes the final decision. What LIVELE commits to is a process: a written root-cause analysis before drafting, a Plan of Action in which every statement is backed by a document, your approval before anything is submitted, and a straight answer if we think the case isn't ready to send.

What is a Section 3 notice on Amazon?

A Section 3 notice cites Section 3 of Amazon's Business Solutions Agreement, the contract every seller accepts. That section lets Amazon end the agreement for convenience with 30 days' notice, and suspend or terminate immediately in listed cases, such as suspected deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity, harm to customers or other sellers, or an Account Health Rating below Amazon's thresholds. The right response depends on which case the notice cites.

What goes into an Amazon Plan of Action?

An Amazon Plan of Action (POA) has three parts. The root cause explains what actually went wrong. The corrective actions list what you have already done about the affected orders, listings or inventory. The preventive actions show what changes so it doesn't happen again. Each statement should be specific and backed by a document Amazon can check, such as an invoice, a test report or a new SOP.

Can I use Seller Challenge instead of an appeal?

Only for some decisions. Seller Challenge is open to Account Health Assurance members and covers eligible listing-level policy decisions after the standard appeal options are used up, up to three times every 180 days. It does not cover account suspensions. If you hold AHA and a listing decision has survived a normal appeal, LIVELE prepares the challenge as part of the case.

How much does an Amazon appeal service cost?

A single appeal or Plan of Action from a specialist typically costs about $500–$3,500 in the US market, as of October 2026. LIVELE quotes Urgent Case Review & Appeal on request, because a listing-level deactivation and a related-accounts suspension are very different amounts of work. Appeals are also part of the Compliance Management retainer scope at $3,500/month.

Do you handle IP complaints and lawsuits?

LIVELE handles the Seller Central side of IP and inauthentic-item complaints: the evidence, the Plan of Action and the case. We're not a law firm and don't give legal advice. Litigation, arbitration and IP disputes that need a lawyer are referred to counsel, and we can work with your attorney on the Amazon side if you want us to.

Send us the notice before you send Amazon anything

A senior reviewer reads it before anyone drafts a word. TODO(owner): response time (C-091).
